Rasheed's remarks, while speaking to the media, came a day after the Opposition's Pakistan Democratic Movement held a large public rally in Faisalabad's Dhobi Ghaat ground, where Maryam - who was representing the PML-N in the absence of party president Shahbaz Sharif - spoke at length in criticism of the current regime. He also cautioned PML-N's Vice President, Maryam Nawaz, and said that if she continued to target state institutions in her speeches, it would have "lasting consequences." The minister admitted that the country has been facing rising inflation and said that the incumbent government could not be blamed for it as it was the faulty policies of the previous government that has led to the current situation. "This worthless Opposition has not been able to make any decision so far," he said, adding that the PDM had set out to oust the government last December but almost one year on, it is still planning to oust it without taking any concrete actions. Once in the Big Apple I stumbled into the Upright Citizens Brigade where I learned improv and how to get from Astoria to Chelsea without ever going above ground. I made a plan to pay my way there by selling cartoons to The New Yorker. Students on campus shouted the catchphrase I wrote for my character for the rest of the semester. They were 400 audience members strong, more people than I had even met in my life up until then.

At Rutgers University I performed for a paying audience for the first time, performing a series of sketches I wrote and starred in. In high school I was the class clown, voted most likely to become a priest, and ran my own Warhol-esque Factory for the Spirit Committee creating banners for school sports.
My acting career began in Jersey City when in the 6th grade I did Dick Van Dyke's ottoman pratfall for a girl I wanted to make laugh. My parents naturally chose New Jersey for us. My family left our home in Lahore seeking new adventures, opportunities, and fast food in America.
